“They don’t really think about using the bomb, do they?” Samuel Goldwyn Films has unveiled an official trailer for an independent landmark biopic called Adventures of a mathematician, which originally screened at the 2020 Palm Springs Film Festival last year. It is finally released in the United States in theaters + on VOD in October of this year. Based on Stanislaw (Stan) Ulam’s autobiography of the same name, the film is about a Polish immigrant who fled in the 1930s. It is the heartwarming story of a mathematician who moves to the United States. . Stan copes with the difficult losses of his family and friends while helping to create the hydrogen bomb and the first computer. The film grapples with the subsequent ethical fallout of thermonuclear warfare, a specter that still hangs over our humanity. Adventures of a mathematician received grants from the Arthur P. Sloan Foundation. This stars Philippe Tlokinski like Stan, with Joel basman, Esther garrel, Sam keeley, Ryan gage, Fabien Kociecki, and Sabin tambrea. It sounds like an amazing story to tell.

A thought-provoking tale about the brilliant 30-year-old Polish Jewish mathematician Stanislaw (Stan) Ulam, a bon vivant who fled Europe in the 1930s for the United States, leaving behind his friends and family. His best friend, the Hungarian genius Johnny von Neumann, offers him a mysterious job that takes him to Los Alamos, New Mexico. Surrounded by eccentric and charismatic young immigrant scientists, Stan begins top-secret Manhattan Project work on a nuclear bomb that could potentially detonate the entire world. While desperately trying to help his sister escape Nazi-occupied Poland, Stan also teams up with Johnny to create the first computer leading into the digital age as Europe ignites. Adventures of a mathematician is directed by the german filmmaker Thor klein (aka Thorsten Klein), directing his second feature film after Lost place previously. This one premiered at the 2020 Palm Springs Film Festival last year and premiered at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. Goldwyn Films will be released Adventures of a mathematician in some American theaters + on VOD from October 1, 2021 this autumn. Worth a watch?
